This powerful story celebrates the inspiring 100-year history of the Hindman Settlement School in the Appalachian mountains of Eastern Kentucky. This amazing school has remained vital by responding to the needs of its community, from its founding by 2 ladies from the bluegrass and the cultural clashes and reconciliations that ensued, to the present, as it provides vital services such as special tutoring and summer school for students with dyslexia and other learning differences and folk and cultural activities such as Appalachian Writers Workshop.
