Beyond The Blue Mountains

Looking For Lilith Touring Productions

Beyond the Blue Mountains

Beyond the Blue Mountains

Beyond the Blue Mountains is a unique project. Based on Kentucky writer Jane Wilson Joyce’s book of the same name, LFL explores her evocative poetry through ensemble storytelling and movement to recreate one Boyle County, Kentucky family’s experiences on the Oregon Trail. Gabe Clay has Oregon fever, 13-year old Nancy is filled with impatience, teen Abby anticipates how her life will change with Gus Whittier part of the wagon train, and mother Sarah has a sense of foreboding at the journey’s upheaval. Join these and other characters of the wagon train as LFL’s performers move easily between characters in their signature approach to theatre.

Bring Beyond the Blue Mountains to your school, library or community center!

Looking for Lilith has a strong commitment to education. In our outreach programs, we can guide participants in researching, devising, and sharing new works that give voice to the members of our society who have historically been underrepresented. Through these programs and our performances, we help show the value of multiple perspectives on history.

Looking  for Lilith provides touring productions, in-school residencies and after-school programs for pre-K through 12th grade, including our award-winning interactive performance, Choices. We also offer professional development opportunities for teachers.
