GirlSpeak and YouthSpeak

Your stories, your way! Have you ever wanted to create a play that explores ideas, issues and themes that matter to you?

In GirlSpeak/YouthSpeak, youth will be guided by LFL Teaching Artists in the same kind of collaborative playwriting techniques used in creating LFL's professional shows. At a time in their lives when youth may feel like few adults take them seriously, we want to give them the chance to express who they are and what is important to them, in a safe, trusting, and fun environment.

GirlSpeak
Compelled by research indicating that girl's self-esteem plummets at age 12, LFL created GirlSpeak to provide a supportive, noncompetitive space where girls can explore their own voices. This program is open to all youth of marginalized genders (i.e. girl, young woman, trans, non-binary).

YouthSpeak
The structure of this process is the same as GirlSpeak, however this program is open to all youth of all genders.
